Major mistakes green belts do ?

Use of right tool at right place is primary requirement of any project. I have seen many GB's applying the tool when it is not needed. Six sigma have given lots of fascinating tools in form of Minitab. But apply them when it is needed... It is not fair to apply them unnecessary. Remember

1. If husband comes late - kick him with love
2. If husband comes with wine- kick him by stick
3. If you find lipstick on his collar - kill him with gun

Don't kill him when he is just late. On similar ground, Apply FMEA , ANOVA when it is needed. On simple problems, these tools may not add too much value.

It is really great effort to appriciate hard work these people are doing.One change, I am noticing that people are ready to share their learning in contiuous improvment journey. Six sigma has made it possible.Every company has its own method of doing six sigma. Still objective is same, to learn six sigma methods.Sooner or later people will learn these powerfull tools to make their operations effective and lean. Only thing, I want to improve for these presentations/compitition is method of evaluation. It is tottally diffeent from One consultent to another.

National conference of Six sigma was conducted by CII - Institute of quality for first time. Fourteen projects were short listed in first round. It was tough competition among all these case studies. Companies participated in it includes

Compton Greves , MICO , UCAL , Marico , IPCL , Infosys , HSBC , Bhillai steel plant, Madras Almunium etc ..

Quality of presentations was really great. It shows that Six sigma is getting its root in Indian industry.
