If you compare both the tools, JMP seems to be better in various aspects
1. No need to have statistical knowledege . Any layman can use it.You don't need a black belt or statistian to take out the statistical significance of any data.
2. Data partitioning tool in that is very powerful. It is collectivily equals to many tools in Minitab.
I will suggest the black belts to try this at least once. As this can be helpful them in understanding Attribute and variable data simultiously.

Never try on JMP but minitab is easy to use and no much statistical knowledge are needed, just the basic knowledge is enough
Use JMP since 2000.
Did a comparative test when analyzing a designed experiment with 30 000 data (powerplant experiment).
When testing different models MINITAB hung. JMP used seconds per model test and got the job done fairly quickly. Since, I am only using MINITAB on customer request.
Everything is very open with a very clear clarification of the challenges.
