six sigma is nothing but systematic logical thinking and arriving on root cause by problem solving models/methods.
In today's era, when no body has time to review the situation, everybody jumps on the quick fixs, hardly any body goes in to root cause of the issue. Since root cause is not attacked, problem may not get killed completely and it repeate again.
I feel SIX SIGMA is way of standard life and alone six sigma cannot solve anything unless management thinking changes to process approach, what I mean is you need to generate need for six sigma, should not be by pressure or compeltion.
Training is one of the important tool to continue six sigma jurney moving.With training other tools which will help six sigma are
Customer-Focus
Leadership
Involvement of People
Process Approach
System Approach by Management
Continual Improvement
Factual approach to decision making
Mutually beneficial supplier relationships

I think .. six sigma will be needed all though.If you have problem, that will always be part of business, then you need a speciallised effort to crack it. Tough problems need data based approach , and away from line job. So six sigma experts can help in cracking this kind of tough problems.
